THE ROUTE

Flight Route
Depart the Seward Airport and fly north over Box Canyon over gorgeous alpine meadows towards Lost Lake a dazzling blue. Look for bears and moose at elevation and enjoy the many hanging glaciers, snow-capped peaks, and the beautiful wildflowers that bloom throughout the summer. You will then fly over Cooper Lake and the Upper Russian River where we often see bears fishing for Salmon from mid-June through late-August. This is a great spot to let the aircraft hover from above as you watch the bears fish.
Follow the river through a beautiful valley and look for Skilak glacier before flying up and over parts of the beautiful 700 square-mile Harding Icefield. Emerge from the Icefield near Aialik Glacier, which boasts an impressive 500ft ice face that descends directly into the ocean. Explore the ice face and watch for pieces of the glacier to calve off.
Then, fly through a mountain pass towards Bear Glacier. Zoom through icebergs, watching for seals, and fly over the beautiful double medial moraine. Finally, fly back through Paradise valley, searching for mountain goats and more bears or along the beautiful coastline towards Fort McGilvary.
